A pocket park shaped by low-level light, textured materials, and the memory of Lancaster’s printing heritage.

Lemon Street Park transforms a compact urban infill site in Lancaster into a carefully crafted public space rooted in local history. Drawing from the city’s industrial and printing heritage, the park combines textured masonry, sculptural metalwork, layered planting, and integrated site elements within an intimate neighborhood setting.

The lighting approach is restrained and closely tied to the landscape. Linear light within seat walls defines edges and circulation, while concealed uplighting reveals the masonry wall and custom art installation through texture and shadow. Low-level pathway accents and softly illuminated planting areas support safety, orientation, and atmosphere, allowing the park to feel welcoming and memorable after dark.
